All vets and staff here are top notch. Thank goodness I found the place!

I have personally known Dr Gelfand since 1985 when I got my first German Shepherd Dog. Dr Gelfand has consistently been the "best vet" that I have gone to. He has a genetics degree, he is excellent at diagnosing all kinds of things, he is excellent at orthopedic surgery (first gsd had 2 hip surgeries for dysplasia at about 1 year old, and she lived to just a few days shy of her 12th birthday). Our friends and neighbors in NJ who have gone to Dr Gelfand for a "second opinion", have all had Dr Gelfand perform the surgery on their dogs (driving to/from Jersey City NJ-Long Beach NY. They have all been very, very satisfied. Our friend's dog had widespread cancer which the local vet in JC diagnosed as a "sprain". It really kills me every time I see someone complain about the cost. First, All Creatures always has the most updated equipment. While you might not care when going in for yearly shots, one would most definitely care if your pet needed that updated, costly equipment while saving your pet's life. Second, no one "makes" a client go to All Creatures. The people who make appointments there do so of their own free will. You can always ask about the cost BEFORE you go there. And personally, the difference in cost between the local vets by my house and All Creatures has been negligible; the difference in quality is incalculable. You need more examples of the quality of Dr Gelfand's work, you say? Two hip dysplasia surgeries, one shoulder fracture that required surgery (local vet surgery was "sprain"), 2-3 ACL surgeries, correct diagnosis of widely disseminated testicular cancer (local vet said "hip sprain" in the absence of any known injury), humane treatment of lymphoma (local vet diagnosis was "not sure"), correct treatment x 3 for anaphylatic shock (was at big important vet in NYC when my dog started having symptoms of anaphylactic shock, I told the receptionist (I knew what was going on because it had happened before) and they left me in the waiting room -->I called Dr Gelfand and he told me what to do to stop the reaction and saved my dog's life, etc, etc. Have I sometimes found the front desk folks not helpful? Yes, yet I can personally say that when there was a big problem, it was addressed, permanently. I have to wonder whether stress or anger (at things other than All Creatures) plays a role in the negative comments. Even after 30 years, I have nothing but respect and trust for Dr Gelfand. Dr Gelfand's attributes: very intelligent (genetics degree plus veterinary degree), kind, caring, goes out of his way to help, is thorough, performs a methodical exam and leaves no joint untouched (limping dog? Check ALL of the dog's joints, not just the one you think might be the problem), answers emails, excellent surgeon, compassion (just ask my first dog)... I could go on but you get the point. Emergencies aside, would you hire a contractor without asking at least an estimate for the cost??? No, so stop complaining about the price, please. 5 stars for Dr Gelfand, every time!

So happy I went back to All creatures for my new dog. I used them years ago for some of my previous pets, I had such a great experience with them in the past. My girl Bonnie got cancer, and they were so good to her. She had to come in to get her pain medication changed every 3 days. They would come out to her, right in the waiting room to make it easier on her. The staff, from the desk, to the techs, to the vets are exceptional. Prices are reasonable.

We can't put into words how thankful we are for All Creatures. From the front desk staff, to the vet techs, to the skilled doctors, every single one of them is top notch. Our corgi had a complicated emergency surgery by Dr. Gelfand & needed a lot of follow up care and medications. They were sure to get him right in each time he needed to come back for follow ups. Dr. Gelfand checked in on him every day. A special thank you to vet tech Jackie. We owe her our lives for medicating our dog when he was not making it easy (ready to attack us due to being on lots of meds!) and easing our minds when we were worried. We would still use All Creatures even if we lived an hour away, but it just makes it even better they are just a few blocks from us. I would recommend them to anyone & will continue to do just that. I moved to Long Beach in 2024 and needed to find a new vet, so I decided to give All Creatures a try. Both of my dogs were treated very well and I never felt like anyone was pushing treatment on me. They educated and advised.In February I had to let one of my dogs go to doggy heaven. This was an extremely difficult decision and I was a mess. I want to say a special thank you to Dr. Gelfand for walking me through the process and especially for his warm words.

I just had an outstanding experience with my cat’s visit to All Creatures Veterinary today! My cat was treated for a ringworm infection, and I couldn't be more impressed with the level of care and professionalism we received. The veterinarian was incredibly thorough, explaining the entire treatment plan and ensuring that I felt confident in the next steps for my cat's recovery. The staff was welcoming, and the clinic was spotless, creating a calm and reassuring atmosphere. My cat was treated with such kindness and attention to her comfort throughout the process. I am so grateful for the compassionate and knowledgeable team for providing such exceptional care. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for top-tier veterinary.

As always, Dr. Geltman and crew has always done a great job taking care of our 2 dogs over the years.

Love this vet for our dog. This is our first family pet, and the staff are kind, clearly love animals, and the doctors and nurses are very knowledgeable. I love how they work together as a team and interact with our (very big) puppy. We have even used the boarding services for about 5 night stay, and he came home happy, energy spent in the best way, and squeaky clean.

Thank you sooooooo much for saving my elder dog for the second time. Caring and knowledgeble Vets and amazing staff.

The doctors and the staff are incredibly caring and patient. It is also a very clean facility. We have been using them for all of our pets' needs for the last 23 years.

All Creatures is THE BEST!! From the front desk staff to the vet techs in back and the excellent veterinarians this is the only team I trust to take care of my best buddy, Duke the pug. His favorite vet, Dr. Gelfand, is kind, caring, smart, and experienced. His love of animals comes through in every interaction.

Dr Gelfand has been my vet nearly 40 years- he truly cares and is always on top of newest meds and procedures. I put my dogs in his hands- and that’s saying a lot!

I have been taking my pets to All Creatures for over 30 years. My experience has always been one that is caring, compassionate and competent. In response to other reviewers regarding numerous tests being performed, if our pets could talk and tell us what is wrong with them, testing would be kept to a minimum. But they don't talk so a guessing game begins and testing is the only way to find the answers. I have dealt with specialists outside of this clinic for specific surgeries and I can tell you first hand, they charge exorbitant prices and make sure you know that they are running a business and their business comes before your pet and your pocketbook. I had one specialist tell me, "get out your credit card and max it out to give your dog this surgery". So as far as prices at All Creatures, you get what you pay for and at All Creatures knowing my pets are in competent and knowledgeable hands is worth every dollar I pay them. They also have a business to run, but you are never made to feel that their business comes before your pet. I have NEVER had a bad experience with any member of this clinic. From their front desk, to the vet techs, to the kennel staff, to the doctor, I am always greeted with respect, kindness and compassion. Even in stressful times when my pets are sick or injured, I never forget that this staff consist of people and I never forget my manners and always return the respect I receive. I highly recommend All Creatures.

Finn had wonderful care at All Creatures. Dr. Gelfand understood his problem and gave him medications to promote his healing. Dr. Gelfand took the time to explain the situation and to answer all of my questions without rushing me. I highly recommend Dr. Lee Gelfand for your pet's care.

All creatures have been our vetenarians for the past 28 years. The doctors along with the staff have been caring and wonderful to my three boys. My husband and I would highly recommend their services to anybody.

Have had animals for many years and have been to different vets. Never met a kinder staff! So glad I found them!!! They take the stress away and are so good with my dogs and cats! Very knowledgeable as well.

Dr Gelfand has been our vet for thirty years, and now that we have our third toy poodle, we hope he has no plans on retiring. Kind, caring, compassionate and yes, he will call you back if you have a question. The office staff is a pleasure to work with and the facilities are lovely. Not the cheapest vet in town but definitely worth the extra.

I highly recommend All Creatures! Everyone from the front staff, to the nurses and techs and of course all of the vets are amazing. We have seen every vet there and they all have taken very good care of my senior dog. We typically see Dr. Pellegrini and he is so smart and kind. the doctor was extremely knowledgeable, kind, and compassionate as well as very thorough. he spent more than an hour at our visit and answered all my questions. very happy with all creatures, have been bringing my family pets here for over 20 years
